The first day of the "Bioinformatics of Sequence Variation" course starts with a general introduction to the course's topics, timeline and procedures.
This is followed by an introduction to GitHub, including: - repositories - files and folders - commits - collaboration
The second part introduces Markdown, including: - headings - lists - links
Hands-on exercise:
- create Github accounts and forward to bio392@compbiozurich.org
- create a Github repository
- edit a README.md
- create a short Markdown document
