On the last day of the course there will be a 1:30h written exam which will consist of multiple choice questions and 2-3 open essay questions.
For preparation, you should be aware of are mostly the basics of the individual topics of the course, e.g. (non-exclusive examples)
- genome sizes
- genome variants (types, counts)
- file formats in genomics
- genomic assemblies and challenges from those
- T2T & "pangenomes"
- what is "liftover"
- molecular- and molecular-cytogenetic analysis techniques
- challenges in genome analysis (genome structure / repeats) and their influence on technology selection
- API / use
- types of databases (primary/deposition, knowledge resources...)
- challenges of genomn data sharing (privacy, identification risks ...)
- G2P and long range familial attacks
- survival analysis basics (KM...) and challenges especially when applying to molecular data (data biases, dimensionality...)
- software environments for data analysis & visualization (basically things you used)
- populations and how they can be determined
